If you are like most compulsive eaters, you are not often mindful or in the moment. Think of binges. They are mindless. Binges are trance-like. You are not really tasting, you are lost. Dieting too, is not in the present. You are clawing your way toward the future when you will reach the “holy grail” also known as “goal weight.” If you are aiming softly, you can be mindful and present in the here and now. Mindfulness is a fundamental principle of recovery.
